R&D data come in constant streams from inside an organization and outside.
Most current software try to stop the streams and lock the data into silos and old fashioned databases. They usually force companies to adopt their own rules and act as black boxes. Often, any new software adds up more complexity to an organization. As a consequence, the most interesting parts of the data become very difficult to retrieve.
Maarlin sees R&D data as streams and likes it this way.
Data come in, go out and come in again in a high performance messaging engine. At the interface of Maarlin are producers and consumers. Maarlin can get messages from producers, process the messages and feed consumers. Thus, a lot can happen, just automatically without human intervention.
So far, Maarlin is a proof of concept done internally at llaama research on pharmaceutical data. We plan its first release in 2020.
Maarlin is fully integrated with Palaamon. It can feed Palaamon with the right data to automatically proceed with a defined analysis or a whole processing workflow.
Maarlin does not want to replace any other tool or system.
Maarlin can very well be integrated into any R&D data environment. It will be able to fetch data from traditionnal databases as well as to feed them with results.
